Lektionsplanering 10: Kontakter i värdlandet

Den här lektionen kommer att fokusera på olika nivåer av sociala kontakter i värdlandet. Särskilt kommunikation i olika sammanhang, t.ex. uttrycka egna känslor, åsikter, hantera konflikter och olika åsikter, strukturera sociala kontakter, uppfattning om vad som är artigt beteende. Fokus kommer att ligga på mångfald och interkulturalitet samt fokus på värdlandsspecifika aspekter.   

 

Lektionslängd: 5 EU plus tid för utvalda videor

 

Lärandemål:

·        Att vara medveten om potentiella skillnader och likheter mellan ursprungsland och värdland i samband med sociala kontakter i olika miljöer: fritidsaktiviteter, kontakter på jobbet, offentliga organisationer och myndigheter, etc.

·        Att vara medveten om betydelsen av sociala kontakter (etablera och upprätthålla) i samband med integrationen i det nya värdsamhället.  

 

 

Sammanfattning av uppgifterna / insatserna

Uppgift 1:

Eleverna tittar på de valda sekvenserna av videor (Alex 38:02 -> 41:19, Azzat 31:26 -> 32:33, Shore 27:27 -> 31:22), när personerna talar om vikten av språk och att upprätta nya vänskaper i värdlandet.

Efter det kan läraren ställa följande frågor till eleverna:

-        I vilket sammanhang pratar personerna om vänner och nya kontakter; stötte de på några svårigheter när de bildade vänskaper?

-        Vad säger personerna om sociala kontakter, har de många vänner, kollegor?

-        Talar personerna om "vänner" eller "bekanta"? Vad är skillnaden mellan "vänner" och "bekanta”?

Kunde du få nya vänner när du kom till Tyskland? Det var snabbt eller det tog dig lite tid? Är dina nya vänner tyskar eller är de också nya?

Hur kunde sociala kontakter hjälpa dig att anpassa dig till det nya landet?

Nämner personerna i videorna var de hittade nya vänner? Tänk på olika platser i din nya omgivning: Var kan du hitta nya vänner eller skapa nya sociala kontakter?

Eleverna kan skapa en tankekarta över olika platser och möjligheter med hänsyn till egna intressen, hobbyer samt arbets- eller utbildningsplats. Läraren kan stödja eleverna med vissa ämnen som engagemang i sport, kulturella och sociala aktiviteter och evenemang, volontäraktiviteter osv. Vidare kan läraren stödja eleverna med idéer om var sociala, sport, kulturorganisationer eller klubbar finns i.

Uppgift 2: Reflektera över din egen kultur och upptäck andra kulturer i samband med sociala kontakter.

Eleverna uppmanas att minnas olika situationer som de upplevde i ett nytt värdland som informella möten, evenemang eller t.o.m. fester och att tänka på om de upplever några likheter eller skillnader i samband med beteenden, attityder, sätt att samtala. Vad var annorlunda och vad var liknande?

 

Stöduppgift 3:

Läraren kan också använda en text från DW om "Att få vänner i Tyskland"

This lesson will focus on various levels of social contacts in the host country, contacts, especially communication in various context, e.g. expressing own feelings, opinions, dealing with conflicts and different opinions, structuring social contacts, conventions of the polite behavior. The focus will be on diversity and interculturality as well as focus on host country specific aspects.   

Lesson duration: 5 EU plus time for the selected videos

Learning objectives:

  • Sensitizing to potential differences and similarities between country of origin and host country in the context of social contacts in various settings: free time activities, contacts at work, public organisations and authorities, etc.
  • Being aware of importance of social contacts (establishing and maintaining) in the context of integration into new hosting society.  

 

Summary of the tasks / actions

Task 1:

Learners watch the selected sequences of videos, when the persons speak about language importance and setting up new friendships in the hosting country.

After that, the teacher can ask the following questions to the learners:

  • In what context the persons talk about friends and new contacts; did they encounter any difficulties when setting up some friendships?
  • What persons say about social contacts, do they have many friends, colleagues?
  • Do the persons speak about “friends” or “acquaintances”? What is a difference between  “friends” and “acquaintances”?

Were you able to set up new friendships when you arrived to Germany? It was fast or it took you some time? Are your new friends Germans or they are also new comers?

How social contacts can help you in adjusting to the new country?

Do the persons in videos mention where they found new friends? Think about various places in your new surrounding: Where can you find new friends or establish new social contacts?

The learners can create a mind map of various places and possibilities taking into account own interests, hobbies as well as working place or education place. The teacher can support learners with some topics like engagement in sport, cultural and social activities and events, volunteering activities, etc. Further, the teacher can support learners with ideas what social, sport, cultural organisations or clubs are around.


Task 2: Reflecting on your own culture and discovering other cultures in the context of social contacts.

Learners are asked to recall various situations they experienced in a new hosting country like informal meetings, events or even parties and to think if they experiences any similarities or differences in the context of behaviors, attitudes, ways of conversations. What was different and what was similar?

 

Supporting task 3:

Teacher can also use a text from DW about “Making friends in Germany”
